Why I Fly

Welcome to Flight for the Kids, my project to raise money for Extra Life and Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis!

For those of you not familiar, Extra Life is a program of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, that empowers gamers like myself to raise money for their local hospital via playing games. You can play any game, be it board games, role-playing games, video games, basketball, or in my case, Microsoft Flight Simulator. Play those games when you want, and ask your friends, relatives, social media contacts, co-workers, fellow students, or even total strangers to sponsor you to play those games. All the money collected goes to the hospital you choose to play for.

Extra Life hosts a national game day every year (this year is November 7) where participants try to marathon game for 24 hours. While I'll be doing something for that, this being my 6th year participating, I wanted to try something different. I've also recently been enjoying Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, and thus Flight for the Kids was born. Beginning on October 15th, I will be flying around North America, visiting each of the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals that participate in Extra Life. I'll be flying past the hospital, and taking screen shots, before moving on to the next hospital. This trek will begin in the same place Extra Life did: Orange, Texas. I will end at my local hospital, Riley Hospital for Children.
